ABSTRACT

The focus of this research is to identify the dynamics of regional economic development through digital trends towards tourist visits and the promotion of tourist destinations in the Lake Toba area during the F1 Powerboat World Championship (F1H2O) event on Lake Toba, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Through the conduct of online research methods (ORMs) in diagnosing digital social issues and trends regarding the events, the results show that there was an effort to maximize the increase in regional economic development, by utilizing the potential and attractiveness of holding the F1 Powerboat as part of sports tourism. As an event aims to spur the movement of domestic tourists to super-priority destination areas, the implementation of the F1 Powerboat event is not only a driving force in the recovery and improvement of the local economy after the COVID-19 Pandemic, but also a venue for the promotion of other tourist destinations in North Sumatra. However, the positive impacts of this event organization on sustainable economic growth in the surrounding areas is not without reservations. The event has received some negative feedback, which include the problems of event preparation and implementation, and also the limited awareness of local community tourism. This research suggests that in order to achieve sustainable regional development and urban resilience, the future organization of sport tourism events should not only focus on the economic objectives, but also on the other aspects including socio-cultural and environmental perspectives. © 2023 by the authors.

ABSTRACT

Misinformation around Covid-19 poses a public health problem for Indonesia and globally. It has a negative impact on children and the government's ability to reduce disease and control the causes of death from Covid-19. Both those that have a direct impact on society and children as well as those who injure themselves due to false beliefs about the virus (Covid-19), prevention, vaccines, and treatment. This study uses a qualitative-exploratory method with a phenomenological approach to case studies of hoaxes and disinformation, the online media of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, which has a detrimental impact on children's growth and development when consuming wrong information. Data analysis uses Nvivo 12 Pro, as a qualitative research tool in exploring existing research data. The results show that the quality of media literacy and the effectiveness of the Indonesian government's policies are one of the efforts to mitigate the infodemic on the level of trust in information from online media and social media, which are in harmony in decreasing trust in myths and false information related to Covid-19. Trust in news from online media, interpersonal communication, and uncontrolled social media makes trust in Covid-19 myths and information increasing. This, in turn, contributes to a less critical practice of social media posting, that exacerbates the infodemic in society. Media literacy training and the accuracy of government policies contribute to the improvement of critical social media posting practices, which play a role in mitigating the infodemic in Indonesia. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

ABSTRACT

This article presents systematic literature review related to student academic stress during the COVID-19 pandemic in the latest literature. Although there have been similar studies, there are still few that present the newest literature review related to student academic stress during the pandemic. This article uses the systematic review literature method to identify, evaluate, and interpret existing research results with the help of Publish or Perish version 7, VOSviewer, and NVIVO 12 plus applications. The release of articles in scopus indexed journals is limited to three years, namely 2020-2022. From the search results in the Publish or Perish version 7 application, there are 248 articles indexed by Scopus, then selected papers according to compatible themes into 50 pieces. The findings of the topics are stress, students, academic-related stress, academic performance, posttraumatic stress disorder, health psychology, academic achievement, emotional intelligence, depression, COVID-19, online exam, academic success, academic engagement, insomnia, and coping. These 50 articles were analyzed according to the topics set through the NVIVO 12 plus application and described the results according to research questions. This article contributes to subsequent research and studies the theme of student academic stress during the pandemic. © 2023, Intelektual Pustaka Media Utama. All rights reserved.

ABSTRACT

This article explores social media coverage of news related to the infodemic as a threat to panic and peace in society during the current global crisis due to Covid-19. The infodemic phenomenon has distorted scientific work and reduced public trust in state authorities. This research has identified and analyzed the government’s response to fake news attacks on social media. The method used is qualitative-exploratory with data analysis used of Nvivo 12 Pro. The research results showed that the quality of people’s digital literacy, public communication performance, and the effectiveness of government regulations are part of the challenges in mitigating the infodemic. The Indonesian people have been trying to mitigate the Covid-19 infodemic in Indonesia, both in groups and individually. The presence of the digital society and media movement to mitigate the Covid-19 infodemic that is rife in industry 4.0 within digital public spaces in Indonesia. The presence of fact-checking in the form of a report website to face hoaxes and disinformation is a form of the Indonesian digital 4.0 mitigation movement. In addition to the efforts of the Government of Indonesia, which has three strategic approaches, namely 1) Upstream, digital literacy, and capacity;(2) middle flow, direct action to remove harmful information through technology and collaboration with social media platforms;and (3) downstream, direct action to provide technical assistance in monitoring the spread of malicious information. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

ABSTRACT

Currently the hospital is a place that is very vulnerable to the transmission of Covid-19, so giving birth in a hospital is very risky. In addition, the hospital currently only accepts cesarean deliveries, while mothers who can give birth vaginally are recommended to give birth in a midwife because the chances of being exposed to Covid-19 are much lower. In general, this study aims to examine the performance of the LDA-SVM method in predicting whether a prospective mother needs to undergo a C-section or simply give birth normally. The aims of this study are: 1) to determine the best parameters for building the detection model;2) to determine the best accuracy from the model;3) to compare the accuracies with the other methods. The data used in this study is the dataset of caesarian section. This data consists of the results of 80 pregnant women following C-section with the most important characteristics of labor problems in the clinical field. Based on the results of the experiments that have been carried out, several parameter values that provide the best results for building the detection model are obtained, namely σ (sigma) –5.9 for 70 % training data, σ=4, –6.1 and 6.6 for 80 % training data and σ=4 and 16 for 90 % training data. Besides, the results obtained show that the LDA-SVM method is able to classify the C-section method properly with an accuracy of up to 100 %. This research is also able to surpass the methods in previous studies. The results show that LDA-SVM for this case study generates an accuracy of 100.00 %. This method has great potential to be used by doctors used as an early detection to determine whether a mother needs to go through a C-section or simply give birth vaginally. So that mothers can prevent the transmission of Covid-19 in the hospital © 2021, Authors. This is an open access article under the Creative Commons CC BY license
